The Senior Analyst will have various month-end close responsibilities and be accountable for reading, understanding and tracking development deals and preparation of a monthly Executive development report.
Responsibilities:
•Obtain understanding of the development process of the TV business. This includes understanding development projects and overall term deal contracts, how they inter-relate and their financial statement impact.
•Prepare for review and post development related accounting entries. Track and adjust financial statement accruals.
•Assist in the maintenance and preparation of the monthly Creative and Development Report for SPT division including detailed spreadsheet maintenance.
•Track and forecast all costs and disbursements relating to term deals and development projects including check request coding.
•Track and forecast all re-coupments relating to term deals via allocation authorizations from business affairs, staying abreast of production slates, loan out of term deal producers, and the impact of any early disposition of term deals
•Gather appropriate supporting documents to allow network billing and ensure that the billing department does so accurately and timely.
•Monitor cash disbursements relating to term deals and development projects
•Review check requests including payment set up calculations on overall term deals, all payments pertaining to development projects
•Work with contract administration, business affairs and TV finance to obtain, as well as supply information
•Provide management support with coordination of quarterly external audits
•Assist in the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal/external reporting
Experience Required:
Four year accounting/finance degree required
Three plus years public and/or private accounting/finance experience required
Entertainment experience preferred
SAP experience a plus
Strong MS Excel and computer system skills
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
Accounting / GAAP knowledge
Strong follow-through on all projects; ability to bring projects to timely completion
Ability to quickly grasp new concepts
Ability to perform tasks with reasonable independence
Ability to problem-solve
Detail-oriented; strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
