The Orchard is looking for a Manager, Finance to join our team in New York.
Responsibilities
• Leverage strong excel skill set in order to track revenue utilizing the company’s revenue accrual process. Have the ability to learn on the job and act quickly in order to react to industry-driven changes.
• Drive tracking of expenditures across the business with bi-weekly reporting of those spends as well as maintain a reconciliation process. Liaise with Legal and other teams on an as-needed basis to understand timing of advance-related cash outflows on both a short and long-term basis. Research and report expense issues and drive their resolution.
• Assemble quarterly business review documents for each of the business department leaders that is both comprehensive and easy to follow while showing actionable items required to meet year-end budgeted amounts.
• Update and track all forecasts and budgets in order to help the business to recognize future business trends and trajectories.
• Ensure seamless workflow within the Finance and Accounting division, focusing on the financials surrounding one vertical of our business while abiding by team and company processes and best practices.
• Work with Sony audit and finance teams to ensure the correct accounting policy is implemented across all of the impacted documents and procedures.
• Leverage internal and parent company (Sony) resources in order to track all invoices and oversee budget accounting process.
• Support legal team with real time dynamic tracking of various triggered events causing incremental revenue or additional costs for projects in the company’s portfolio.
• Participate in annual business planning budgeting process.
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
• Advanced excel, analytical, and data management skills.
• Ability to synthesize data-heavy information into an easily presentable format in a timely manner.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to think outside the box.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate externally with partners and internally with stakeholders across all departments.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Previous experience working in the independent film industry a plus
