Overview
The Manager, Contract Administration is responsible for analysis and summarization of contracts between artists and Sony; Additional responsibilities may include overseeing the DRA clearance process, tracking reversions for all masters owned or licensed by the U.S. Company, and distributing broad rights reports to the US labels.
Responsibilities
• Work on a team to enter and review full contract summaries of Artist agreements into the CARMA contract summary system, including royalty rates, copyright percentages, term structure, rights and restrictions.
• Manage digital clearances in the DRA digital rights system to ensure digital rights are properly set before release. Work with other Sony Music Rep Owners to verify digital rights and update DRA accordingly.
• Link deliverables to contracts through the term of contract, and update data in the summary system as modifications occur.
• Manage centralized U.S. talent rosters for all U.S. labels.
• Participate in analysis, design and testing of new IT systems (e.g. Royalties, Digital Rights, and Departmental databases).
• Perform ad hoc contractual research as requested by BA, LAW, A&R Admin, Finance, GDB, Licensing
• Prepare contract summary reports across all labels to analyze roster trends, digital rights, merchandise rights, or other ad hoc requests.
Qualifications
• Minimum of (2) years of experience
• Highly detail oriented, organized, timely and accurate
• Very comfortable with data reporting in Microsoft Excel/Access
• Lotus Notes knowledge a plus
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Prior experience reading/summarizing contracts a plus
• MBA or JD strongly preferred
