Full Time Job
The role of the Junior Analyst is to provide assistance in the areas of audit clams analysis, retrieval and preparation of support documents, maintaining audit files, and schedules and other miscellaneous administrative functions in support of the Audit Department's objectives.
Responsibilities
• Verifying the accuracy of audit schedules
• Retrieval of support documentation for audit claim analysis which includes reviewing/extracting data from various royalty, sales, distribution and inventory systems
• Assisting with the review of audit claims
• Preparation and analysis of claim schedules
• Investigate potential counterclaims
• Review and interpreted agreements, mechanical licenses, and rate calculations and publisher splits.
• Prepare and maintain audit files, including copies of documentation provided, correspondence and emails.
• Provide management with status of audit work
• Communicate with other Sony Music departments to confirm accurate reporting
• Other duties/projects assigned by management
• Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis
Qualifications

• Must have a curious nature and a strong ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Music Business preferred.
• 1-2 years of related work experience, preferably in audit or royalty accounting.
• Experience in interpreting artist contracts and processing royalty statements.
• The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Advanced data management Excel skills (e.g. V-lookup, macros, formulas, etc.) a plus.
• Access, SQL, or other experience related to manipulating/slicing big data is a plus.
• Experience with SAP or other financial systems desired.
