Columbia Records is seeking a Director of Marketing Analytics for the label’s Music Insights & Analytics team. The Director will have a central role in the team as it relates to marketing ROI analysis and media mix modeling to help inform marketing instinct through data driven analytics by constructing statistical insights and predictive metrics, and conducting artist marketing campaign case studies. These efforts will be used to enhance creative decision making to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing tactics, and optimize marketing investments to increase music consumption and revenue generation. The Director must have relevant previous statistical and media mix modeling experience.
Responsibilities
• Conduct deep dive analysis of marketing execution, campaigns and timing across Columbia and competitive label artist releases to track predictors of successful strategies
• Collect and analyze a variety of cross-media attribution and consumer segmentation data to draw insights and establish marketing guiding principles
• Develop and test statistical and predictive models to identify marketing mix elements that are most effective at driving consumer awareness and conversion to music consumption across genres and media channels throughout the lifecycle of a release
• Communicate closely with Marketing, Promotion, Publicity and Commerce teams in the gathering and application of marketing ROI insights
• Serve as key liaison with external media mix modeling consultants, as applicable
• Develop and implement new analytical processes and/or technologies
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, artificial intelligence, or similar field
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years of experience in consulting, media mix analytics, and/or predictive modeling
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong data visualization capabilities
• Ability to thrive in an environment where art, commerce, and technology converge
