Responsibilities
- Collect and compile all components of financial forecast and reporting, i.e., domestic sales/cost of sales actuals and forecast, INTL & licensing income, recording costs, marketing, overhead, other income, artist profitability, reserves, etc.
- Prepare flash P&L and monthly financial results and forecast book including commentary.
- Manage sales/cost of sales forecast and international sales forecast processes, i.e., manage analyst updating actuals and monthly formula/maintenance changes, route/discuss with sales, mktg, INTL, & VP Finance for changes; review; review units-to-dollars and cost of sales calculations; finalize.
- Int’l income analysis and review.
- Cost of sales analysis: manufacturing rate analysis as needed, review monthly royalties expense in conjunction with label statement review personnel and Sony’s ES Royalties dept for monthly commentaries and forecast.
- Work with marketing planning dept on maintaining monthly marketing forecast, assist with reconciliation of marketing systems to the general ledger, perform monthly marketing and coop accruals.
- Joint venture monthly closing and review, and preparation of statements: monitor, analyze and maintain monthly P&L G/L accounting for accuracy.
- Review and approval of JV Accounting’s JV/profit-share and profit distribution deal accountings.
- Employee expense reports (T&E) approvals.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting. Music business focus a plus. MBA/CPA a plus.
Experience: 3 yrs minimum experience in music business label finance position.
Technical skills: Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills, PowerPoint), Financial systems skills, i.e., general ledger systems (SAP), experience with financial and sales reporting systems (i.e. Hyperion, proprietary company systems such as BPC, ARTS/PRS, etc.)
