Overview
Epic Records is a global recorded music company with a roster of current artists that includes a broad array of both local artists and international superstars, Epic Records is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America.
The position of Director, Film & TV Music will pitch Epic Records front-line repertoire primarily to sports related programming, and secondarily to advertising agencies and traditional Film & TV clients. This individual will serve as the east coast representative for Epic Records and be based in their NY office. This individual will build, develop and maintain relationships with various contacts in order to secure deals on behalf of Epic Records. The responsibilities of the Director, Film & TV Music may include, but will not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities
• Creatively pitch, facilitate and negotiate Epic Records front-line repertoire in the media's of sports, advertising and various film & TV areas.
• Act as liaison and account manager for assigned sports related companies, ad agencies, film & TV clients and music supervisors.
• Assist in facilitating NY based showcases for Epic artists targeting clients on east coast.
• Assist VP in creating marketing decks in sync related areas for all Epic front-line artists.
• Consistently update assigned client base as well as new clients on Epic Records new releases, priorities, artist stats, tour dates, etc.
• Provide creative music pitches to clients/potential clients.
• Proactively reach out to assigned sports related companies, ad agencies, film & TV clients and music supervisors for their creative music needs.
• Process and circulate clearance requests to labels and artist managers/representatives in a timely manner.
• Maintain information regarding all clearance deals (terms, stage, etc.) in licensing database.
• Stay abreast of changes in the areas of sports, ads, film, TV and video games.
• Attend internal Epic Records label and marketing meetings, as needed, and liaise with all labels' product managers on strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the entertainment business (Sports, Film, TV, Advertising, Video Games, and/or Music) of which 4 of those years of experience must be directly in a sync music film & TV capacity
• In-depth understanding of Music Clearance and Licensing.
• Knowledge of copyright as it relates to the music industry (on both the master and publishing side).
• Strong proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, iTunes, Quicktime Pro and iMovie.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.
• Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented, organized, timely and accurate.
• Travel may be required.
