Full Time Job
As a Creative Development Director you will be responsible for creating concepts while both utilizing our in-house team and creatives out of house to develop the creative visions for our artists. You will collaborate directly with the head of creative, design team members and other departments in executing and ideating concepts for each artist assigned. Your concepts will extend into solutions for video, packaging, merchandise, web, mobile, animation and interactive projects throughout the artist campaign. You will help assist at various degrees throughout the production and implementation of the design process to make sure your creative remains consistent. Able to work independently and on a team, you must be self-directed, driven, and capable of managing competing priorities under tight timelines. You will demonstrate leadership qualities and mentor by example, while creating great relationships within a bi-coastal team.
What you'll do:
• Help conceptualize branding and artwork for new or developed artists or group including working on photoshoots, video shoots, content creation and working with designers to execute your vision
• Work with our Lead Producer and outside producers to find the right creatives for photoshoots and content creation
• Collaborate with all members of the internal team and outside designers on concepts, quality, and emotional impact of all creative outputs
• Work closely with label departments and clients to manage expectations, meet deliverable schedules, and rigorously pursue creative excellence
• Mentor younger creatives to improve their professional practices
Who you are:
• At least 4 years experience working within an entertainment setting, music industry a huge plus
• Have a wide network of creatives to utilize and develop your concepts
• Self-directed, driven, and capable of managing competing priorities under tight timelines
• Interest in new design/fashion trends and methods to create and improve workflow and broaden creative ideologies
• Be able to have both exciting and hard conversations with artists from all genres to bring their ideas to life
• Ability to hit on different aesthetics for a wide variety of artists from acapella to drill rap
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting both in-person and virtual
• Ability to work within both east and west coast time zones
• Understanding of photography, illustration, and/or any other mixed mediums and creatives that can execute
• Knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects a huge plus.
• Knowledge of print design and packaging, or willing to learn the ins and outs of physical deliverables
• A love for music, fashion and pop culture, primarily in the hip hop / rap / and r&b space
• A positive attitude and a great team player
• Based in the Los Angeles area
• Degree in design not mandatory but a plus
