The Director, Commercial Business, YouTube Music is responsible for building and maintaining a best in class commercial partnership on behalf of Sony Music Entertainment’s US Commercial Business group. The role is accountable for driving revenue and leading overall day to day strategy. The role will need to continually cultivate the partnership to develop optimal revenue, reach and market share on behalf of SME’s US labels and artists.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for setting strategic goals and objectives for SME’s global partnership with YouTube Music.
• Work closely with Sony Music’s US labels to create and execute campaigns that drive revenue, brand recognition and growth in subscription.
• Liase with Partner Development and Global Insights to communicate and drive best practice across the SonyMusic US organization.
• Be the go-to product expert to successfully optimize SME’s content across the YouTube Music platform.
• Manage and develop strategies that will deliver optimal audience reach and growth.
• Support and develop a global playlisting strategy that superserves the US market and relevant audiences on YouTube Music.
• In partnership with SME’s US label partners, manage the flow and set process around account engagement and communication, insight prep, release strategy and release schedule administration.
• Work with label sales and marketing teams to leverage YouTube Music’s vast arsenal of advertising and social tools.
• Develop and own product release roadmap and ensure that it meets business revenue objectives and content owner goals/needs.
• Leverage analytics and insights to proactively address key business questions.
• Collaborate with analytics to build a forward thinking insights strategy that supports the needs of our label partners.
• Share insight, analysis, and recommendations with accounts to improve our mutual businesses.
Qualifications
• Knowledge and 5 years experience in music business, subscription service platforms and products, and digital marketing/sales.
• Deep understanding of consumption based analytics/Reporting/insights required.
• This individual must understand trends in music consumption including relevant consumer behavior and user consumption habits.
• Strong track record in working in complex cross-functional environments.
• Passionate individual that enjoys working in a creative and forwarding thinking media environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including being able to articulate specific plans and leading a team to the finish line.
• This person needs to have a dynamic personality and excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem solver and active collaborator.
