Overview
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the music industry and eager to participate in a team environment. The particular role open on our team is as the Coordinator, Release Planning, who will be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all Full-Length albums LPs, CDs & cassettes) and DVD/BluRay packaging components (both art and text) for all Columbia Records releases. We are looking for someone to grow and develop within the Release Planning department at Columbia Records so that additional responsibilities can be added.
Responsibilities
• Liaise with label personnel (especially Marketing and A&R) and artist management to ensure accurate label copy & metadata information is provided and correctly represented on all packaging components.
• Review and proofread all packaging through all stages of development (including initial printouts, mechanicals, digital booklets, and final color proofs) and then coordinate all revisions with label copy staff, RR Donnelley and Creative Services to ensure that all corrections are complete by the necessary deadlines.
• Coordinate with Business Affairs to ensure that all legally required text and/or logos are included and that no trademarked art or copy is used on packaging components without proper approvals/consent.
• Proofread label copy packaging documents and digital metadata as needed.
• Represent the label along with Release Planning staff at weekly production meetings.
• Develop within the Release Planning team to take on other projects and functions. Examples include 1) coordinating with the Columbia Records video production department from start to finish to get all video content cleared and delivered to partners correctly and on time, 2) entering and maintaining Columbia Records label copy.
Qualifications
• College Degree in a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of post-graduate proofreading experience strongly preferred.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• The candidate should have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks.
• Ability to work independently, be detail-oriented, well organized, remain flexible, and work with minimal supervision is essential.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks.
• Interest in music industry.
