Sony Music Entertainment's Corporate Communications team is searching for a Content Coordinator who is passionate about storytelling in both written and visual mediums. The ideal candidate is a spectacular writer who knows their way around graphic design programs and is comfortable pivoting between internal and external messaging while maintaining a very busy editorial calendar for various channels.
This candidate will be responsible for collaborating to develop and post digital content for Sony Music Entertainment's (SME) newsroom platforms. This includes but is not limited to: pitching story concepts, writing articles, sourcing/creating and editing visual assets to accompany digital content, and publishing final deliverables to websites (internal and external) and social media channels.
What you'll do:
• Collaborate with Corporate Communications and other division colleagues to publish content daily to various channels (press releases, internal memos, leadership interviews, news and updates surrounding key company initiatives)
• Pitch content ideas with a channel-first framework that considers how a single piece of content would connect with Sony Music's stories and live across various channels as well as how it should be altered and/or optimized for our various external channels
• Create and edit visual materials from standardized design templates to accompany content pieces
• Organize editorial calendars and proactively communicate upcoming deadlines to department and division colleagues
• Maintain and organize an internal photo and video library
• Liaise with different business units and labels to source photo assets and fact checks
• Stay on top of, and in lock step with, social media culture, content trends and new platforms, continually strategizing how to evolve our corporate brand voice and storytelling
Who you are:
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in an editorial content role, with a portfolio of work to show productions of self-developed content
• High level of visual/design sensibilities with basic knowledge of design programs such as Photoshop or InDesign
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and basic understanding of web publishing
• Superior writing skills and creative content development
• Strong collaboration and communication skills a must
• Bachelor degree in Journalism, Marketing or relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
What we give you:
• An opportunity to fuel the creative journey on a global stage
• A modern, diverse and innovative work environment, with offices that include collaboration areas, cafeterias, event spaces, and more
• An investment in your learning & development
• A comprehensive and attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life & disability coverage, and 401K employer matching
• Voluntary benefits (like company-paid identity theft protection and resources for pets), mental health and meditation resources, industry-leading fertility coverage, fully-paid leave for childbirth or bonding, fully-paid leave for caregivers, programs for loved ones with developmental disabilities and neurodiversity, subsidized back-up child and elder care, and reimbursement for adoption, surrogacy, tuition and student loans
• Winter recess (Christmas through New Year's)
