Responsibilities
• Pitch national, regional, and local media for active label roster and secure coverage i.e. features, album reviews, track/video premieres and mentions in a broad range of media outlets including long-lead short-lead print, television, radio (NPR) and online
• Identify and connect with influencers in the social media space and other non-traditional media outlets
• Act as label representative at various media events – print interviews, radio performances, TV shows etc.
• Assist with the development of overall PR strategy including defining key media opportunities, creating targeted outreach lists and detailed timelines for active label roster.
• Create and edit press releases / media alerts including for press releases in multiple genres including Classical, Broadway, Jazz, Crossover
• Assist in development and execution of artist events, showcases and listening sessions including helping to find the venue, coordinating food/beverages, managing invites, inviting press and on site needs
• Update and disseminate daily press clips and weekly press reports to staff and managers
• Discover and execute new opportunities for artists outside of traditional press/media outlets such as Facebook Live events, performance sessions, and podcasts
• Work with indie PR reps to deliver physical and digital press mailings
• Research and develop non-traditional performance/partnership opportunities for our artists with events relevant to the artist/genre
Qualifications
• College degree required
• Basic knowledge of and interest in the music industry
• Interest in classical, broadway, jazz and broad range of music genres, pop culture is a plus
• Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• 5-7 years of experience in public relations / marketing preferred
• Good Written and Oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of all current and up and coming social media outlets – Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat etc.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task
• Display an open mind and positive attitude with learning new skills, systems, etc.
