Full Time Job
As a member of the litigation group, this individual will investigate unauthorized uses of Sony Music's sound recordings and initiate affirmative copyright litigation claims. This position will also provide legal counsel and advise Sony Music's labels on intellectual property, contractual and related legal questions.
What you'll do:
• Negotiate resolution of disputes
• Draft and revise settlement agreements
• Supervise outside counsel in related litigation
• Respond to infringement claims
• Perform legal research
• Draft claim letters and C&Ds
Who you are:
• Law degree and at least 4 years of related experience
• Member of New York Bar in good standing
• Knowledge of Copyright law, including experience with fair use
• Knowledge of specific sound recording rights
• Excellent negotiating, communicating and drafting skills
• Team player with an ability to work with others within group and across divisions
• Flexibility to assist the legal team in its activities as needs arise
