Leading gospel music company RCA Inspiration (RCAI) is looking for a creative, detailed, and innovative professional who can help us make a direct impact on our artists’ success.

The Associate Director of Digital Marketing will lead a team responsible for strategy and implemention of digital marketing campaigns for all RCAI artists, ensuring campaigns support all promotion and consumption efforts. We are looking for an individual who wants to take social and digital marketing to new levels of measurability, effectiveness and profitability.

Responsibilities
• Develop and execute digital marketing strategy for RCAI artists and label, including advertising and use of data/analytics; ensure campaigns are connected to over-arching artist strategy, including singles released to radio and album releases, media campaigns, and relevant brand partnership campaigns; cultivate a culture of innovation
• Manage posting strategies of web-based content (video, audio, graphic, text) for use in digital advertising, social networking, website, and mobile communities
• Track and utilize campaign and social data as well as analyze consumer online behavior in order to help optimize label’s digital efforts
• Identify and evaluate new technology marketing/sales companies and opportunities to build RCAI artist brands and to increase music streaming and consumption growth
• Identify trends, develop new models of digital engagement, and execute innovative campaigns.
• Coordinate “on-platform” marketing efforts with Provident digital revenue team for RCAI artists
• As a member of the RCAI Marketing Council, develop marketing plans that effectively accomplish project goals; partner with other staff to create strategic and tactical marketing campaigns for label artists; evaluate effectiveness of digital marketing strategies and make recommendations of changes needed to respond to changing market conditions.
• Direct and oversee day-to-day functions of marketing coordinator; coach and mentor manage performance, give guidance, assign and delegate work, train, ensure guidelines and policies are observed, and serve as a resource for conflict resolution
• Build and maintain strong, effective, collaborative working relationships with artists and artist managers as well as across the business unit; articulate digital marketing strategy and recommendations in meetings and proposals; c ommunicate label digital marketing plans and expectations to management and communicate management and artist expectations and goals to label staff
• Manage content for artist and label YouTube and other video channels; deliver video uploads, titles, descriptions, keywords, and playlists; w ork in tandem with the RCAI content manager to develop assets for the channel
• Serve as business unit liaison with other Sony Music digital marketing staff, (US and international); develop effective communication with staff and partner on new and emerging opportunities; actively participate in/take the lead on broader Sony Music initiatives; ensure best practices are shared
• Work with internal brand partnerships team to leverage online communities, run sweeps and build CRM lists
• Communicate as needed with appropriate booking agents and business managers
• Develop measurable advertising campaigns that support overall project goals
• Collaborate with artist teams, both internally and externally, to exploit product availability via tour visibility
• Communicate with Business Affairs staff regarding legal issues
• Travel for promotional events, industry events and meetings when necessary
Qualifications
• Experience managing social media platforms, CRM systems, digital advertising, and other relevant digital platforms, including application of best practices associated with these platforms
• Experience in a digital marketing position with proven success in creating innovative, creative campaigns (online & mobile)
• Broad understanding of basic marketing principles, on-line community building, consumer trends, brand strategy, marketing plan development, and brand/artist integration opportunities
• Interest in supporting music and platforms of gospel music artists
• Solid understanding and passion for digital innovation and an ability to apply relevant trends to music marketing
• Experience deriving insight and action through data analytics, specifically in the digital space
• Experience with content management systems; WordPress experience a plus
• Experience in music business or in a role marketing comparable brands preferred; experience in gospel music industry and/or churches a plus
• Broad understanding of HTML required
• Basic CRM platform management experience; Salesforce and MailChimp experience a plus
• Basic experience capturing audio/video content (particularly of public figures) a plus
• Experience in a role that required a collaborative, consultative approach
• Advanced organizational skills with a strong work ethic
• Strong communication skills, including superb writing and editing skills; strong presentation skills and ability to explain complex situations in clear terms to management and large groups
• Demonstrated ability to exhibit a professional, confident, and positive manner in dealing with others and to work to maintain constructive working relationships; a high comfort level interacting with high profile clients; ability to discern and navigate internal politics
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing/promotions/advertising or related field a plus
• Willingness to work extended hours including nights and weekends
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will …
• Have a background in one or more of the following: marketing, analytics, web design, and writing
• Have experience working in a record label
• Be able to think creatively, but be willing to dive into the nitty-gritty aspects of managing social media platforms, CRM systems, and data analysis
