Full Time Job
This individual will provide administrative support to various members of the Promotion department. This includes answering phones, arranging travel, maintaining expenses, processing invoices and pulling industry charts. On the whole, a qualified candidate must be able to balance the attention to detail required to provide administrative support with the leadership qualities needed to run a national college promotion campaign.
Responsibilities
• Work directly with Columbia’s Head of Promotion and Format Heads handling the day to day administrative duties of the department.
• Act as a liaison with our Tour & Events department to work on securing tickets and opportunities for our touring bands to help the Promotion department capitalize on opportunities.
• Information conduit to Marketing Managers to report weekly airplay and marketing developments
• Provide back-up administrative support for Sr. members of Columbia’s promotion departments - this includes answering phones, scheduling travel, completing expense reports and helping with other administrative support tasks.
• Managing the departmental spending by entering PO’s and processing all invoices. This includes executing radio promotions such as contests and flyaways.
• Pulling daily industry charts including BDS Encore, Mediabase, Soundscan, Shazam,
• Help create and maintain our PromoTool Digital Deliveries.
• Work with department members creating ad hoc reports on market/song conditions.
Qualifications
• A college degree and prior administrative experience required.
• Working knowledge of the music business, especially radio, is a must.
• Ability to converse with industry professionals using appropriate music jargon.
• Previous music experience such as internships within the music industry or working at a college radio station is strongly preferred.
• Attention to detail is of the utmost importance.
• Highly organized.
• Time management skills are of the utmost importance.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and duties on a daily basis without getting overwhelmed.
• Proficiency in Computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop is a plus).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of Radio systems is a plus (BDS Encore, Mediabase, All Access, etc).
• Ability to adapt well to constant change.
• An ability to prioritize and follow through on all duties.
• Upholding standards of conduct and compliance guidelines.
