Full Time Job
Analyst is responsible for the ''day-to-day'' administration of assigned artist recording projects, including overseeing recording budgets. This position works closely with various departments: A&R, Business & Legal Affairs, Finance, Video as well as artist management/attorneys in handling all ''non-creative'' aspects of the recording process while also providing support with the review of artist/producer royalty statements, tracking and summarizing contractual options, and preparing financial analyses.
Responsibilities
• Monitor recording budgets of assigned artists as well as issue purchase orders (POs) for travel, studio bookings, equipment rentals and other recording costs; and verify completion of services prior to submission of invoice for payment.
• Prepare producer declarations, video production and remix agreements.
• Review and approve artist/producer royalty statements.
• Work closely with the VP, A&R Administration on the following:
• Financial analysis
• Providing summaries on contractual information for various SME departments.
• Providing summaries on the status of various artists (P&L information, albums left, unearned balance, etc.)
• Correspond with A&R, A&R Operations, management, producers, engineers, etc. regarding day to day matters of budgets, payments and other issues.
• Perform special ad hoc projects upon request.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree Required, Finance or Accounting preferred
• Minimum 1 to 2 years related work experience including prior royalties, audit and/or contract administration experience
• Music/entertainment experience preferred
• CPA and/or MBA candidate in progress a plus
• Knowledge of studio operations is a plus
• Excellent Computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a collaborative, team oriented environment
