As a Music Operations Coordinator, you will be tasked with supporting the multifaceted responsibilities that sit within the Operations team. These areas include rights administration, music discovery, product development, metadata management, and more. With a catalog powered by hundreds of thousands of musicians from around the world, the task of identifying and categorizing songs correctly is paramount. The right candidate will receive any necessary on-the-job training, and work closely with the Music Operations team to ensure success in this multi-faceted role. What You'll Do
- Identify high quality songs in terms of licensability and consumability
- Discover new music across all genres
- Utilize your understanding of music trends to set content standards
- Apply descriptive metadata to songs (moods, subgenres, themes, etc)
- Validate existing metadata by ensuring accuracy
- Provide ongoing support to external label and catalog partners as needed
- Aid in the ingestion of large amounts of content into the site
- Work in partnership with other departments to define product improvements
- Coordinate with rightsholders to fulfill copyright information & secure approvals
- Assist in maximizing value from third-party integrations
- Screen content for potential copyright infringement and artificial streaming
- Access PRO databases to verify rightsholder information
- Register works to various global PROs & CMOs
- Support the Operations team with various administrative workflows
Your Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Understanding or interest in music licensing
- Experience utilizing any of the following music discovery tools: Spotify & Discover Weekly, music blogs or forums, Billboard charts, Chartmetric, etc.)
- Music & playlist lover. Interested in many genres of music and understanding of current and historical trends
- Experience in rights administration, metadata, publishing, or copyright spaces
- Experience working with or directly for a SaaS company preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize your work
- Analytical skills and knowledge or interest in Excel
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
