JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for all accounting, tax and reporting relating to film activities and general corporate matters. The candidate will be responsible for building and managing an accounting team to handle the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting and tax practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports, managing the reporting for investors, financiers and P&A among others. This position will oversee the timely monthly close of the general ledger, consolidation, and reporting of financial results, coordination of audits, and the development of and compliance to internal controls. Additionally, this position includes responsibility for all daily activities for and development of a team of employees.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Establish corporate, production, acquisition, marketing, distribution and international sales legal policies, processes and forms.
-Maintain the company's overall system of accounts, books and records on all company transactions and assets.
-Ensure accurate & timely financials are in compliance with US GAAP standards with adherence to tight closing calendar, and compliance to internal control (including reporting), and government tax and regulation.
-Manages all aspects from the accounting point of view of Film Accounting including Ultimates for Revenue, Film Costs, Participations, and Residuals.
-Review and ensure timely completion of internal financials, bank financials and other financial packages for divisions and operational KPI's (such as budget to actual).
-Manage the cash position across all financial facilities and ensure cash forecasts are updated in a timely manner.
-Full coordination of audit and the gathering of required audit information, preparation of financial statements & footnotes, and preparation of tax accounts.
-Manage, train and develop staff.
