The ideal publicity intern has a true passion for PR and prior experience in PR and/or entertainment (through classes and/or previous internships). This role requires a strong degree of multitasking, a sharp focus for details and an innate sense of urgency to promptly respond to team and media requests. All candidates must be able to receive college credit for the internship.
Candidates must also possess the following attributes and traits:
-Excellent project management and organization skills
-Exceptional writer
-Exceptional verbal communications skills
-Experience with media database (Meltwater, Cision, Muckrack, etc)
-Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
-Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, detail-oriented
-Interest in comics, TV/Film, interactive games, or digital media content preferred
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:
-Gather coverage for the weekly PR wrap report
-Perform administrative duties in support of the PR team including organizing expense reports, managing PR equipment, mailing packages
-Research and maintain editorial and events calendars
-Answer and connect calls for the Director of Publicity
-Assist with special event planning and maintain communication with multiple vendors
-Research festivals, panels, editorial opportunities
-Develop and execute press materials including releases and pitches
-Maintain multiple press lists
