Publishing Assistant, Atria Books
Atria Books is seeking an organized, self-starter to join the team as Publishing Assistant. The Publishing Assistant will work closely with the Publisher and Associate Publisher, as well as editorial, publicity, marketing, and sales. They will be responsible for coordinating materials for sales and marketing meetings, tracking pre-orders and retail distribution, routing invoices, circulating sales figures, and more. The ideal candidate will have clear written and verbal communication skills, an acute attention to detail, and keen organizational skills. The Publishing Assistant works closely with the publishing office and editorial and will report to the Associate Publisher.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with Associate Publisher to schedule and coordinate agendas for in-house sales and marketing meetings
• Organize and circulate materials for in-house meetings and sales conferences, take detailed notes, and prepare follow-up materials for those meetings.
• Prepare weekly marketing update
• Annotate weekly bestseller list with sales figures
• Circulate manuscripts to Sales and Marketing
• Manage imprint budget grid and coordinate changes with the Business Office
• Handle general administrative responsibilities for the Associate Publisher
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Relevant experience or internships in editorial, marketing, publicity, or sales
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet quick deadlines
• Superb verbal and written communication skills
• Interest in and enthusiasm for book publishing
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, as well as general computer skills
