Short Term Marketing & Publicity Manager

Simon & Schuster Audio seeks a short-term Marketing and Publicity Manager for our dynamic, energetic, and collaborative team. The right candidate will have experience working with authors, initiating and executing marketing campaigns, collaborating closely across departments, and the ability to multi-task like a pro. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience in Book Publishing/Marketing/PR with a proven track record of creating successful traditional and innovative campaigns for fiction and non-fiction titles. Experience in the audiobook or podcast industry is a major plus. We are looking for someone who can come in and contribute to the team from day one while our Associate Director of Marketing and Publicity is on leave (approximately 5-6 months).
Responsibilities
• Manage audiobook marketing efforts for Simon & Schuster, Scribner, Avid Reader and Adams titles
• Develop and implement marketing plans and promotional assets on a title by title basis
• Handle outreach to media outlets and reviewers, collaborate with in-house publicity and sub rights
• Coordinate audio marketing efforts with authors and their teams
• General oversight of social medial channels with the support of a marketing assistant
• Craft social media copy and content
• Collaborate closely with production, publicity, editorial, advertising, sales and corporate marketing departments
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in book/audiobook publishing, marketing, publicity, or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Keen attention to detail
• Must be well-organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure
• Proven success in digital marketing, social media campaigns, and social media outreach
• Must be a creative and strategic thinker, as well as assertive and persuasive
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Experience with imovie or other video editing software a plus
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The annual salary for this position is $$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
