Sim is a leading supplier of film/TV studio production equipment, as well as workflow/dailies and post-production services. We're proud to have supported features such as ''Deadpool,'' ''Handmaid's Tale,'' ''Game of Thrones,'' ''Stranger Things,'' ''Power Rangers'' and ''Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.''
We provide Studio, Camera, Lighting & Grip, Dailies and Post Production services and have locations throughout Canada and the United States.
About the position
Actively support Dailies + Rentals various post services and workflow staff through technical skills. Assist in the day-to-day function and administration of office operations. Work to gain experience and in all of the Dailies + Rental departments and project types. Participate in the achieving the company's goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Post Services Support:
Support the processing and syncing dailies according to specs provided by post.
Become proficient using a variety of post-production software.
Understand metadata, its function and importance to all of the Dailies + Rentals services.
Aid in the safe transfer of media from set to the lab's internal storage to the client.
Be able to assist in several Dailies + Rentals departments including LTO, and Admin.
Become familiar with color-grading concepts and their application.
Recognize the quality of master media and any corrupt media.
Learn the authoring, burning, duplication, and packaging of DVD screeners and ISOs.
Communicate and coordinate with workflow supervisors regarding assigned tasks.
Help troubleshoot issues that may arise during the course of the job.
Answer and route calls from clients in order to provide timely customer support.
Report daily to the Dailies + Rentals Workflow Producer.
Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of our company's mission, vision, and values.
Perform other duties that may be assigned.
What you'll need
College Diploma from a recognized Audio/Video/Film Production Course.
Experience with file-based cameras and working with AVID and FCP.
Technical understanding of television specifications.
Eagerness to developing new skills and enthusiasm for being part of a team.
Ability to learn, use, and implement new software and hardware.
Comfort when interacting with clients and co-workers.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and interest in problem-solving.
Ability to work under stressful, ambiguous, or adverse situations.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
Some physical effort required as everyone on the Dailies + Rentals team is asked from time to time to pitch in and help share the load.
Some exposure to physical risk.
