The Field Application Engineer is responsible for all aspects of field service including: installation, troubleshooting and repair as well as working collaboratively with our entire team to provide feedback in order to improve our products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install LED display systems and associated A/V equipment at various locations around the country, both independently and with a team
- Maintain and service installed products on an ongoing basis
- Provide installation, setup and tear-down of product for demos and trade shows
- Report and escalate product issues and resolutions to appropriate personnel
- Work with Technical Support and Engineering teams to resolve issues with standard troubleshooting methods.
- Provide training and certification to integrators on site when appropriate conditions apply.
- Provide accurate notes and documentation on completed projects
- Provide answers to customers' technical requests via phone and email
- Communicate end-user feedback and issues to appropriate personnel, and proactively propose solutions or appropriate actions

Main skill set needed:
- A solid background in customer service, time management, and decision-making
- Be able to effectively communicate information to customers and team members in a professional and timely manner
- Understanding of order process, escalation process, and ability to provide feedback to Project Manager
- Ability to work unsupervised. A strong work ethic and a goal oriented mindset is key.
- Basic understanding of electronics, signal flow and connectivity concepts is a must
- Knowledge of various A/V cables and standards such as HDMI/SDI/CAT 6 as well as general computer networking
- Understanding of wiring schematics, measurements and system drawings.
- Must be able to read technical CAD drawings
- 3rd party Control knowledge (Crestron, AMX etc) is a plus
- LED processor knowledge is desirable but not necessary (Novastar/Colorlight etc)
- System integration experience in the Audio Video field is desired
- Comfortable working on a ladder for extended periods of time
- Ability to actively participate in team development and team-oriented processes.
- Ability to travel within the US about 50% of the time
What You'll Need To Bring:
- Minimum of an Associates degree or equivalent in a technical field
- 2 to 4 years of professional work experience in a technical role, preferably in the Audio/Visual industry
Other Requirements:
This position requires the incumbent to work in an environment where there may be regular exposure to the following:
- General M-F with occasional weekend activity, hours are dependent upon the project and site access and may extend beyond the normal workday
- Position requires some heavy lifting and is generally physical in nature
- Ability to travel extensively
- Scheduling flexibility based on business needs
- Working with others in a team setting
- Valid driver's license, OSHA as well as any other job site certifications are a plus.
