Shout! Factory is seeking a Royalty Tracking and Processing Manager to join our Royalty team. This position is an integral part of the Royalty department in its ongoing quest to improve and streamline efficiencies and processes. This position has two main functions: 1) managing and tracking all third party income and 2) compiling sales and revenue files for royalty processing.
Reports to: VP Royalties and Director, Royalties
Responsibilities
• Receive, track, and maintain log of all third party income.
• Ensure that all incoming statements and payments are accurate and are received in a timely manner.
• Review weekly wire deposits and instruct accounting with detailed deposit. instructions including breakdown by project, GL code, accurate description, etc.
• Receive ad hoc live checks and instruct accounting with detailed deposit instructions including breakdown by project, GL code, accurate description, etc.
• Work with accounting to ensure that all third party income deposits are booked accurately.
• Read and analyze complex license out agreements; ensure that incoming statements and sales reports adhere to all contractual provisions.
• Communicate with Business Affairs and internal sales agents to gain clarity on contract terms.
• Log into various partner portals and pull activity reports/extracts.
• Obtain, format and/or compile complex sales and revenue files from multiple sources for both RTS (royalty system) and manual statement preparation.
• Prepare and format third party income activity spreadsheets for royalty processing.
• Prepare and format multiple sales and revenues files for ingestion into RTS.
• Manage sales, revenue and expense file ingestion into RTS and resolve all conflicts and errors.
• Maintain checklist to ensure that all sales, revenue and expense files are prepared and loaded for royalty processing every period.
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with all licensees and sales partners.
• Work with accounting staff to improve accounting system reports and extracts to ensure they are tailored to meet the needs of the Royalties department.
Qualifications
• Prior royalty administration experience in the entertainment industry.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including extensive knowledge of how to work with formulas and extremely knowledgeable in Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge of entertainment terminology and new media technology platforms.
• Understanding and familiarity with general ledger structures and coding.
• Prior experience with Netsuite preferred.

• A quick learner of computer programs and online database services.
