Content Licensing & Strategy: Rights Coordinator
Beloved by fans and filmmakers, Shout! Factory is a unique producer and distributor of independent film, classic and contemporary TV, music, animation, and comedy. The founders pioneered the careful curation and marketing of pop culture music with their first company, Rhino Records. They brought the same passion for quality content to the video space when founding Shout! Factory in 2003, and today we curate film and TV content across comedy, horror, animation, nostalgia and fan favorites, delivered thru theatrical release, digital streaming, downloads, broadcast television and DVD.
We are searching for a Rights Coordinator to join our Content Licensing & Strategy team in our West Los Angeles office. This opportunity will provide the right candidate a hands-on learning experience. This role will focus on everything from creating content avails lists, researching streaming/TV rights, assisting with the creation of sales decks, inputting deal information into our rights database and generally supporting the Content Licensing team as needed in this constantly evolving side of the entertainment business. The successful candidate will possess a friendly can-do attitude, and is motivated, intellectually curious, organized, adept at multi-tasking, and can work independently. This is a full-time position.
Reports to: Sr. Director, Content Licensing
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Responsibilities:
• Act as a bridge between Business Affairs and Content Licensing to ensure Shout's titles are properly licensed across all distribution methods and platforms both domestically and internationally
• Provide accurate availability reports of Shout owned/licensed content to Content Licensing Department and International Sales Agents
• Schedule Film/TV titles for delivery with our Production team, relaying delivery methods, dates, and specifications
• Prepare metadata for onboarding
• Oversee with day-to-day management of the licensing status of Shout! Factory's Film/TV library
• Input licensing and distribution agreements into Rightsline
• Analyze and interpret distribution windows in licensing agreements
• Liaise with Business Affairs, Acquisitions, Content Licensing, Production, and Marketing Departments to manage all aspects of distribution windows for Shout's New Film and library releases
Skills:
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload efficiently and meet strict deadlines for tasks/assignments
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to assure successful interaction with all levels of employees and external contacts
• Strong organizational, time management and follow-through skills
• Careful attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TEAMS
• Deep knowledge of Film/TV content a plus
