Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and lead the Entertainment Services Audio & Video team in all operational and development capacities. This role reports to and supports the Entertainment Services Manager with all pre-production, production, and post-production Audio & Video elements as it relates to Shows, Events, and Park Support.
Basic Requirements:
•College degree or equivalent experience required within Theatre, Live Entertainment, Corporate A/V, or closely related fields.
•Two (2) years professional Entertainment or Theme Park experience preferred.
•Must have a minimum of three (3) years professional Audio & Video experience as a Designer, Crew Lead, or Technician.
•Must have a minimum of one (1) year leadership experience with no significant performance deficiencies.
•Must be proficient in technical production and be skillful in creating long term and daily production, installation and strike schedules to ensure the timely deployment of resources for successful event execution.
•Prefer candidates that have familiarity with digitally configured controlled distribution systems at both 8ohm and 70volt, live venue audio & video experience including hanging, rigging, installing, tuning, programming, EQ, closed circuit television (CCTV) and microphone paging, video playback units such as Madrix, video screen systems including large single display units to video panel walls, audio playback units such as Q-Lab and SFX, digital audio consoles, calibration and measuring tools, and various signal converters including fiber optic to BNC, Cat5e to HDMI, and fiber optic to Cat6 .
•Must be able to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude to ensure excellent guest service and support other Entertainment Services departments such as Lighting & Scenic as required.
•Proven supervisory skills, strong communication skills; positive attitude, team player; collaboration skills, problem solving skills
•Must be physically capable of working at heights to over 100' (catwalks, boom lifts, man lifts, etc.) & lift 50 pounds or more.
•Must have familiarity with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and IBC
•Must be able to obtain a SEA Parks Drivers Permit for (cart, truck, vehicle) and operate (high reach & fork lifts)
•Must be able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
•Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays, weekends, evenings, overnights and holidays
•Must be willing to comply with and ensure Ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.
•Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Training, development and supervision of the Audio/Video team.
•Deployment, installation and supervision of audio plots for all Entertainment related events.
•Management of all audio & video equipment and hardware including S.O.P.s, maintenance, safety and compliance.
•Support all audio and video operational tracks providing training, feedback to operators, and supporting the team with troubleshooting venue related issues.
•Participate in the pricing and procurement of equipment and managing services of outside vendors.
•Oversee safety as it pertains to SEA Best Practices and Rigging Standards and all other relevant industry guidelines.
•Responsible for labor management, including but not limited to, establishing and maintaining line schedules, authorizing position requisitions, hiring, monitoring labor expenses in correlation to revenue, and payroll.
•Responsible for managing ambassador performance ensuring appropriate ambassador training, providing formal and informal feedback on performance, and making recommendations related to progressive discipline.
•Works as part of a team to increase productivity and while providing excellent guest service.
•Assist with other Entertainment Projects as assigned.
