Full Time Unpaid Internship
General Description:The WNBA Seattle Storm Sports Performance team is seeking a qualified and highly motivated intern for the upcoming 2018 season. While the intern position is UNPAID, it is an excellent opportunity for learning and development within the sport performance field. The intern will be an integral part of the sport performance team in assisting/observing preparation and execution of soft tissue prep, strength and conditioning, and athlete recovery. This internship offers a unique environment in that the Sports Performance Team works in direct contact with both the Medical staff and the Basketball Coaching staff in order to create dynamic and cohesive support environment for our players.
Dates of Needed Availability:

Typical hours of during Regular Season are 9am - 2pm (with occasional exceptions), however, the priority being the 9am – noon time-period. Hours will be kept to approximately 20/week. Again, there will be flexibility and accommodation within reason, however, when you commit to being available, you will be expected to be there on time and ready to go.
During the regular season we do NOT travel with the team, so those days on which the team are traveling, you will be completely OFF.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Undergraduate studies in a field relating to Exercise Science and/or Sport Performance
• Experience/participation in Basketball or another field sport.
• Hands-on experience coaching/providing instruction in human movement / biomechanics (i.e. assisting in PT, working as a rehab assistant, personal training).
