Part Time Unpaid Internship
Job Title: Intern, Player Development
Department: Player Development
Reports to: Coordinator, Player Development
Status: Non-Exempt
Primary Objective:
Responsible for providing coordination, support, and assistance to the Player Development department, including High Performance operations, data collection and trends, administrative processes, and player support staff.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in all areas of minor league operations, including budgets, expenses, administration, roster management, transaction, rules, communication process and schedules, as directed by the Assistant Director, Player Development.
• Assist in coordinating daily transactions for all minor league rosters, placements, assignments, and releases.
• Assist in the data collection and gathering process of high-performance equipment and technology.
• Provide additional analysis in collaboration with the Analytics department to aid in decision-making.
• Attend Spring Training and provide support as needed for the Player Development department.
• Collaborate with the Video Department to ensure video collection standards are being met at all minor league affiliates.
• Assist the Mariners minor league community service efforts.
• Assist with the design, creation and implementation of the Focus Points book and Peak Performance manual.
• Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements if approved by management.
• Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (R, Python, etc.) is preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft software.
• Basic Spanish proficiency preferred
