Full Time Job
This position is based in Los Angeles and reports to the Production Manager, Media Operations. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starting individual who can work independently as well as within an established team.
The Mix Assist will provide start-to-finish audio engineering services in order to create and deliver audio deliverables for Broadcast, Multimedia and DVD clients.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
• Evaluates the quality of client media deliverables to make sure they meet the correct specifications by performing quality control checks of received assets.
• Troubleshoots and corrects reported issues with source assets and previous delivered work to client.
• Aids audio mixing engineers implementing needed changes requested by studio or client (Pick-up lines & Revisions)
• Aids audio mixing engineers by prepping ProTools sessions prior to the mix process
• Conform already edited sessions to revised media
• Prepares and delivers audio files according to correct procedures adapting workflows to new procedures as needed.
• Communicates frequently with the delivery team and other departments keeping them apprised of the project status.
• Documents internal processes for consistency and efficiency.
• Suggests improvements to workflows, tests new software, and assists with the creation of rendering profiles.
• Understands and stays current with all SDI workflows, workflow change management updates and tutorials.
• Perform general administration duties as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Must be able to work flexible hours when and if needed.
Must be able to demonstrate:
• Highly developed Pro Tools skills, including a strong background and understanding of audio post production and file management and organization.
• Understanding of Post Production/Dubbing workflows, formats and requirements.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience
• ~2 years' experience in Audio Engineering (Recording, Editing and/or Mixing)
• Degree in Audio Post-Production or related field desired
• Experience with Mac environment, ProTools audio hardware, software and plug-ins
• Understanding of and experience using audio processing techniques, including but not limited to equalization, compression, reverb & delay.
• Familiarity with signal flow and routing, including 5.1 routing within ProTools
• Understanding of audio and session formats and specifications (.wav, .mp3, .ptx, .omf,…)
