**We're hiring a Sales Director in Los Angeles**
Hello! We're Scripto, a screenwriting and production software company that's become the platform of choice at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.
This fall we launch Showrunner™, our new collaborative platform for sitcoms and films, and we're looking for a Sales Director who can help make it a sensation in Los Angeles.
If you're familiar with TV and film production culture, experienced with tech product launches, and comfortable taking on lots of responsibility in a remote work environment, this is the gig you've been waiting for. You'll report directly to the CEO, and your compensation will include a competitive salary with on-target earnings, meaningful equity, and full health benefits.
**What you'll do:**
- Develop expertise in Showrunner™ to effectively pitch the program to potential clients.
- Introduce the product to established screenwriters, production companies, studios, networks, talent agencies, university film programs, and beyond.
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy with quarterly goals and revenue forecasts.
- Improve our process for qualifying leads and converting them to paying customers.
- Keep tabs on the market by following TV and film development trends.
- Become our eyes and ears in Los Angeles.
**Who we're looking for:**
- You've spent 3 years or more in sales, entertainment, and/or tech.
- You're friendly, conversational, and used to working with creative personalities.
- You're detail-oriented, results-focused, and creative in how you approach sales.
- You're a reliable team player with glowing references and proven expertise in business development.
- You love the entertainment business.
- You don't have to be across the table from someone to build and maintain a strong relationship.
*Really? Only in LA?**
Yep. We understand if that's a deal-breaker. While Scripto is a proudly remote company with employees in seven states across the U.S., the time has come for a permanent sales presence in LA.
**More about Scripto and Showrunner™:**
Since 2014, we've been the collaborative scriptwriting platform relied on by shows like The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Rundown with Robin Thede, The Jim Jefferies Show, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas, and many others.
Earlier this year, The New Yorker called us ''a fixture of late-night comedy news.''
We're expanding our scope with the launch of Showrunner™, a collaborative editor and production platform for comedies, dramas, films, sketch shows, narrative podcasts, web series, plays - anything that starts as a script and becomes something bigger. It's already in use at Netflix's The Break with Michelle Wolf and Showtime's Our Cartoon President, and we've consulted with writers, producers, directors, and showrunners from dozens of other shows during development.
**Why you should apply to work at Scripto:**
We are an unconventional tech company that caters to a rapidly growing industry at an exciting time. If you recognize yourself in this listing, you will find many opportunities to develop and exercise your talents here. We also offer flexible hours, and value our hobbies and side projects.
**We're dedicated to building an inclusive workplace.**
Scripto is dedicated to fostering inclusivity for people of all backgrounds. Members of groups that have been historically under-represented in entertainment and tech are especially encouraged to apply. Scripto is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, disability, national origin, protected veteran status, age, or any other status protected by applicable national, federal, state, or local law.
