Scanline is looking for a Senior VFX Production Accountant, reporting to the VP of Global Production & Strategy. This individual will work cross functionally with Production, Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Accounting. The VFX Production Accountant is responsible for monitoring and tracking cost projections & actuals across all projects, and generates cost reports for evaluation on a regular basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Owns the revenue line item which consists of managing the revenue calendar, coordinating with Producers on pending change orders and new projects, conducting variance analysis and supporting the FP&A team with revenue forecast
• Manages cost reports, monitors and analyzes progression and changes of cost projection and actuals across all projects
• Proactively monitors labor projections and keeps track of tax credit/ rebates/ grant qualifications across all projects, across multiple countries/ regions in order to optimize project profitability
• Supports freelance outsource tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Works with the FP&A, Production and Accounting team to calculate earned and deferred revenue under US GAAP, ensures timely accounts receivable from clients and ensures accurate accounts payable to vendors
• Collaborates with the Global Finance & Accounting team to generate bi-weekly & monthly cost reports, as well as other project specific ad hoc financial analysis
• Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to be involved in new business analysis and provide recommendations and profitability analysis of producer's bids
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Five (5) years of relevant experience
• Bachelor degree preferred
• Advanced Excel skill set
• Basic understanding of accounting principles under US GAAP
• Experience in the film industry/animation or vfx preferred
• Ability to manage priorities, and work towards tight deadlines
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
