Title: Sales & Marketing Manager, Promotions & Special Events
Reports To: Senior Director, Promotions & Special Events
Department: Marketing
Status: Full-Time/Exempt
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Promotions & Special Events, this position is responsible for supporting all sales and marketing campaigns for each individual, collective and target specific Giants Promotion or Special Event. Additional duties include support for some Anniversaries, Reunions and other various marketing department campaign work where needed. The candidate must have flexible hours as working consecutive home games over the course of a long homestand is required in this role.
Position Responsibilities:
• Support and grow existing relationships pertaining to all Special Event Community Partners, general Marketing Partners, Media Entities and local influencers
• Seek new partnerships in an effort to grow ticket sales on each individual Special Event and general Promotion; manage those relationships and ensure all partners have provided support in roll out of each campaign
• Collaborate closely with local festivals, events and promoters to accurately and best represent the Giants brand at several annual city based event opportunities
• Provide creative input to support department's goal of finding new, emerging markets and event ideas to offer Giants fans
• Assist with the ideation and development of the Special Events and Promotions calendar, while working closely with the Director of Event Production & Creative Services Team
• Develop marketing timeline to support all e-mail campaigns and targeted group outreach efforts
• Assist with Creative Services to produce Special Event marketing collateral and MLB to maintain the Promotions and Special Event landing/sales pages
• Assist in the creation of Special Event premium giveaway items
• Maintain client database and distribution lists for all upcoming events and update with new contacts within weeks of completion of certain programs
• Work with ticket office to manage sales thresholds and accurately convey sales updates to all internal and external parties
• Provide Premium Sales & Business Development Team with all updated sales collateral needed to upgrade or steer group/ premium clients in special event opportunities
• Contribute to the growth of pregame event experiences by seeking new ways to add value to the event experience
• Assist VP Marketing with Special Event digital marketing campaigns
• Work in collaboration with all Marketing Department members, specifically Production Coordinators and in-game entertainment team, along with SFG Productions
• Serve as a Project manager on marketing campaigns for annual programs such as All-Star Balloting, Stretch Drive, Play Ball, etc.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in a business or Business Marketing preferred
• Minimum five years of marketing and/or promotions experience
• Significant experience in Sports, Entertainment, Media and/or Hospitality within a transformative, complex, high volume service-oriented environment with a diverse population of employees and stakeholders
• Managerial experience required
• Strong knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area community and consumer marketplace is required
• A proven track record of developing and implementing innovative marketing strategies
• Demonstrated success working collaboratively across departments
• Strong management experience; a participative manager who will advocate the team concept
• Must demonstrate success in budget management and control
• Solid customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and foster internal and external relationships
• Drives innovation and collaboration through technology, digital and social media
• Must be willing to multi-task, handle multiple projects at once, be self-directed, work independently and handle creative direction/feedback
• Must be willing to have schedule flexibility during homestands, while working through the start of many Giants home games
• Results-oriented with the ability to balance all key business considerations
