Title: Coordinator of Field Operations
Reports To: Manager of Minor League Field Operations
Department: Baseball Operations
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
This position will be a working supervisor role coordinating a crew on the daily maintenance and operations of the newly constructed Giants Baseball Complex and surrounding landscape areas.
Position Responsibilities:
• Lead crew and execute daily maintenance schedule in accordance with leadership team's objectives.
• Preps and repairs all aspects of the playing surface before and after each usage.
• Organizes set up, tear down of Baseball Operations activity when needed.
• Calibrates and applies fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides in accordance with a progressive agronomic turf program.
• Monitors/adjusts/repairs irrigation system and reports any inefficiencies.
• Keeps facility in clean and orderly condition.
• Operates turf and landscape management machinery; mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, trimmers, etc.
• Assists in project work i.e. over seed, aerification, top dressing, verti-cutting, irrigation repairs.
• Plants and prunes shrubs, trees, flowers and other vegetation associated with landscape on site.
• Any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge with growing various types of turf grass and associated cultural practices with maintaining high performance turf grass.
• 4 years of professional turf grass experience. Some Baseball experience preferred.
• Arizona Pesticide Applicators License required or ability to obtain within a 6 month period.
• Understanding of Baseball rules and regulations.
• Physical Requirements: Requires lifting of heavy equipment and material (up to 75 – 100 lbs.), constant walking, some running throughout entire shift worked.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work nontraditional hours in nontraditional settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven ability to be adaptable in various work environments; demonstrates cross-departmental collaboration.
