POSITION SUMMARY:
Spurs Sports & Entertainment is seeking a dynamic Building Operations Manager to lead our Building Events Operations! Our ideal candidate will use their experience to develop employees and promote innovation. Does this sound like a role for you? If so, we want to hear from you! The Building Event Operations team is comprised of full-time, part-time and temporary staff that completes the daily activities for Event Operations including successful preparation, conversions and execution of events at the AT&T Center.
In every position, each employee is expected to: demonstrate alignment with SS&E's core values and mission, collaborate with internal/external family members and demonstrate ongoing development.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure arena setup and equipment are in compliance with all NBA Operational requirements.
• Review, amend and train on operational procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, inventory controls, and setup inspections completing them to the highest standards.
• Guide team leaders who are responsible for employees in various functions. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training as well as work distribution, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners, handle performance and financials for third party contractors such as housekeeping, temporary labor and waste management.
• Adherence to the annual operating budget. Prepare event cost estimates/analysis for specific areas of responsibility. Supervise cost accounting expenses including but not limited to house equipment rental, supplies, event supervision and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or at least 5 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• 1 years of supervisory, management and/or leadership experience.
• 4 years of event experience with professional sports team(s) & concerts.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work long hours, including overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with diverse staff, tenacious work ethic and strong, written communication skills required.
• Highly organized with an attention to detail; an ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and adapt to change.
• Ability to complete projects and resolve issues expeditiously, and independently with minimal supervision while showing initiative and good judgment.
• Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Strong teamwork aptitude required.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods and navigate through stairways in an arena setting.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job which include: personal mobility to get in and around the facility, lifting a minimum of 75lbs., carrying, moving, climbing, and working from various heights, in moderate to loud noises in the arena.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and other computer skills as required.
