Overview:
This position is responsible for the successful implementation of all Special Events held at the AT&T Center. This position is salaried and the schedule will vary depending upon event schedules. Results should reflect in quality relations with guests, facility tenants, vendors and event promoters as well as effective business practices conducive to the general mission, goals, objectives and values of Spurs Sports and Entertainment. The eligible candidate will service and deal with a diverse group of important clients and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels; independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.

Responsibilities:
• Manages resources and staff to coordinate and plan for all back of house and front of house needs for all Special Events including, but not limited to: advancing event needs with both internal and external clients, FOH and BOH staffing requirements, event resources and logistics, AutoCAD drawings, event estimates and event settlements.
• Communicate with various internal and external clients to fulfill event needs through meetings and event briefs, serving as the liaison on the day of the event from load in to load out for all aspects of the event.
• Prepare and execute Special Event contracts, event estimates, settlements and invoicing.
• Investigates leads and/or generates new Special Event business through a variety of avenues to include: inquires via the AT&T Center website, area/client research and internal client requests.
• Serves as the liaison between the facility and its clients, ensuring all elements of clients' events are thoroughly vetted among the departments while insuring adherence to all appropriate regulations and policies.
• Works within the building calendar to schedule and coordinate in-house and out-of-house events in the AT&T Center ancillary spaces (i.e. concourses, meeting rooms, courtyard, restaurant, other building spaces.)
• Inspect and evaluate building readiness in preparation for all internal and external Special Events and follow up with internal/external contacts on any requested needs or last-minute changes.
• Works within event budget to plan, staff appropriately, and source event needs. Can analyze and explain variances and report results to Senior Event Manager.
• Maintains and verifies that records are kept up-to-date including: The Special Event Formstack, event briefs, pre/post event inspections/reports and the event settlement file to ensure proper and timely coordination of events.
• Works with Senior Event Manager in setting personal and departmental goals and the measurement for progress. Leads intradepartmental meetings to ensure goals are met and event requirements are communicated as well as soliciting feedback to improve processes.
• Stays informed of new and evolving technology and processes associated with events and facility assets used by the AT&T Center for event management. Maintain an adequate level of proficiency in each of the said areas
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 - 4 years of increasingly responsible experience in event management in arena, convention center, stadium or other public assembly facility setting.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in business, facility management, hospitality management, marketing or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; tenacious work ethic and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize and to promptly react to difficult situations in an effective manner. Flexible and creative when dealing with last minute requests/changes with events.
• Must be able to complete projects on schedule with a minimum amount of supervision and direction.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and events simultaneously but still be a part of a team, assisting co-workers and managers as needed.
• Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A proven track record of successful project coordination in all areas of event services.
• Proficiency in MS Windows and Office Suite is required.
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 30 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred
