Overview-
This position is responsible for leading and implementing technology and video production needs to support the smooth and entertaining production of sports and entertainment events held at the AT&T Center and Toyota Field. This includes departmental leadership and general supervision of full-time, part-time, and contract/freelance crew (game day staff) such as Audio Specialists, LED Graphic Artists, Camera and Cabling crew, Control room and Programmer positions required for live production of franchise events. This position supports new technology and idea generation as it relates to event production along with the ability to allow those new ideas to come to fruition within a live entertainment venue. Both fan entertainment and satisfaction of contractual activation efforts is included as a responsibility of this role. This position will interface with franchise and league personnel to fulfill requirements for events.
Responsibilities
-
• Facilitate, direct, analyze and adapt Production Team capabilities to ensure quality event day execution, contract fulfillment, benchmark achievement, customer satisfaction and team synergy including but not limited to the direction of video, sound and live entertainment elements that service to enhance the in-game experience such as IPTV, Ticket Towers, Click Effects, LED and in arena signage, video board and potentially NBA or USL live streaming in partnership with the Broadcast department, etc.
• Oversee and manage the hiring, training, evaluation and development of the Production department and other crew members both professionally and during live event production in collaboration with Game Presentation, Marketing Partnerships and Brand/Marketing teams.
• Serve as Game Day Control Room Director for event night production team in collaboration with Game Presentation for all SS&E Franchises.
• Plan, acquire, schedule and complete crewing duties for both full and part-time, contract/free-lance staff essential to game day duty execution. Evaluate and train crew for optimal key position execution.
• Develop, establish and document a set of standard operating procedures for key job duties and positions. This includes identifying and preparing staff by cross training for back-up or succession purposes, execution of event based content and sponsorship content
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in the field of technology, certification from a technological institution or 4-5 years' commensurate experience in a technology related field.
• A minimum 3 years' experience directing live multi-camera productions, i.e. sporting events, theatre, concerts, shows, etc.
• A minimum 3 years' experience in all aspects of audio/video equipment operation, including but not limited to Ross Expression, Cross-Fire, Blaze, 3-Play and camera equipment.
• A minimum 3 years' management/leadership experience to include supervising of both full time and part time staff, training, crewing of production and camera crew staff.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of graphic and video creation using Adobe Creative Suite and other software.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work long irregular and at times, long hours and evenings with minimal supervision. This includes the ability to work league games scheduled at times on the weekends and holidays.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have knowledge in Windows operating systems, Mac, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Must possess the ability to walk, sit and stand while directing events for long and potentially extended periods of time in an arena setting.
• Must possess the ability to work with technology and on a computer for long and potentially extended periods of time in an arena setting.
