POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to develop software applications in web programming languages supporting internal and external facing systems. The position includes working through all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The position reports to the National Director, Software Development and Support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops, implements and supports internal and external facing web-based software systems
• Works with business users and IT staff to gather requirements that meet desired user functionality
• Develops UI design options based on customer needs and ease of use
• Tests and debugs new and existing applications
• Optimizes code and system performance on existing systems
• Troubleshoots existing applications
• Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Comfortable working in a Linux environment and using GNU tools

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant field required
• 1-3 years of experience in developing web-based software applications
• Familiarity with MS Office Desktop applications required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Extensive experience in Front End (UI) Development required
• Strong experience with PHP and / or Drupal required
• Strong experience with relational databases required
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and XML required
• Experience with technical documentation (requirements, test plans, use cases, technical specifications) a plus
• Experience with Oracle Databases a plus
• Experience with Weblogic a plus
• Experience with RedHat a plus
• Experience with Java, jQuery, AJAX and JSP a plus
• Experience with MS Access a plus
• Knowledge of LDAP a plus
• Knowledge of Flash, SEO, Theme design a plus
• Strong familiarity with GIT and SVN a plus
