Program Manager (Member Outreach)
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the guidance of the Director, Member Outreach. The Program Manager will manage member outreach events, organizing events, college and pre-member outreach programs and member training programs. Coordinate communication efforts in New York. Partner with the New York Local President / National Executive Vice President on outreach and educational activities, public relations events, and committee responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all areas of member and pre-member outreach and education including committee events and activities for all NY Local outreach committees (i.e. MOVE New York, MORE, NY Young Performers, NY Health Care Safety Net and NY Communications).
• Work with the New York President / EVP to draft correspondence, research organizational and industry data, respond to member inquires (both orally and in writing), plan outreach events and committee activities in the greater NY area.
• Help formulate and conduct outreach programs, including college, high school, undergraduate and graduate schools and conservatory programs.
• Identify and collaborate with organizations within the community to find and/or develop outreach and education opportunities.
• Represent SAG-AFTRA at expos, industry gatherings, and other public events.
• Identify, support, and schedule appearances of the NY President and/or Executive Vice President on behalf of SAG-AFTRA.
• Manage communications for all SAG-AFTRA NY social media and newsletters on behalf of NY President, including research and writing articles.
• Assist with management of NY Local Communications including eblasts, newsletters, member lounge monitor, webpage, and social media accounts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Demonstrated and proven proficiencies in creative and advocacy writing skills,
• Demonstrated high degree of proficiency and past experience with public speaking, in both prepared and extemporaneous forums.
• Professional, confident and highly approachable demeanor at all times.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in team environment while achieving objectives through increased levels of autonomy.
• Strong attention to detail, creative problem solving skills.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure, and to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Able to accurately type 40 WPM
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.
• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
• Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
• Must be able to work in a challenging environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with Public speaking preferred.
• Experience with Creative and advocacy writing preferred.
