POSITION PURPOSE: Oversee and manage daily functions of the department including supervisory duties. Support Senior Director in the implementation of all related initiatives and policies, make effective recommendations regarding process improvement in departmental functions and practices.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises and assigns the work of the Business Representatives in the New York TV and New Media Entertainment Contracts Department in coordination with senior management, to provide contract interpretation, and enforcement on behalf of performers.
• Partners with the senior management within the TV and New Media Entertainment Contracts Department to train new and current Business Representatives, and answers contract questions for all representatives.
• Recommends changes to TV and New Media Entertainment Contracts senior management, as well as coordinates and implement changes when needed.
• Creates claim templates for use by Business Representatives.
• Conducts departmental and interdepartmental training sessions on Oracle data entry system, as well as SAG-AFTRA TV agreements and new media side letters.
• Assists senior management in creating and implementing policies and procedures within the department.
• Manages and monitors the daily workloads of Business Representatives and support staff.
• Assists senior management in the hiring process by interviewing candidates for Business Representative and support staff, as well as making effective hiring recommendations.
• Conducts yearly/bi-annual performance assessments for all direct reports.
• Attends Wage and Working Condition meetings, as well as any other relevant committee meetings.
• Participates in various collective bargaining negotiations when requested.
• Provides information and guidance to local SAG-AFTRA offices with respect to television motion pictures produced within the local office.
• Maintains and monitors time and attendance records for the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.)
• Thorough knowledge of the TV and New Media contracts and signatory process, and other related agreements.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements.
• Ability to effectively communicate with talent agents, managers, business affairs executives, and talent attorneys regarding the provisions in the television and new media agreements.
• Ability to identify and create procedures that will streamline processes, and create efficiency within the department.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including the ability to defend SAG-AFTRA's position verbally or in writing form to staff, members, or outside parties.
• Ability to develop and conducts training seminars, as well as represent the Television and New Media Department within and outside the organization.
• Demonstrative proficiency in the interpretation and administration of the various collective bargaining agreements pertaining to television and new media.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Demonstrative ability and initiative to take on unanticipated problems and assume responsibilities beyond regular duties.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure, and to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA’s sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Television and New Media contracts and other related agreements a major plus.
• Ability to excel in a leadership/management role.
• Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory/management experience preferred.
