POSITION PURPOSE:
The Manager, Theatrical Contracts plans, organizes, and manages all department resources and daily functions, and supports the National Director in the implementation of all related initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and find ways to improve and optimize the signatory/claims process for the Los Angeles National Office and Locals handling Theatrical projects.
• Consistently reviews and ensures that all department functions and processes are documented, updated, and utilized for the purposes of training, retraining, and process improvement.
• Takes a proactive approach in problem-solving performer and stakeholder concerns regarding theatrical motion pictures.
• Maintains open communication with producers, attorneys, studios, agents, payroll houses and other departments within the Union.
• Builds and maintains working relationships with representatives in all sectors of the industry.
• Keeps the National Director abreast of department progress, workflow delays, and issues concerning the department and all parties on behalf of whom the theatrical department works.
• Liaison with SAG-AFTRA departments and proactively seeks out solutions to ensure optimal customer service and process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, training, and developing of Administrative Coordinators, Business Representatives, and additional direct reports.
• Recommends and implements staffing and organizational changes in order to meet department goals and needs.
• Assigns and supervises workload of Administrative Coordinators, Claims /Signatory Business Representatives, and Financial Assurances Business Representatives.
• Reviews and approves signatory production folders, claims, financial assurances and specific correspondence.
• Works closely with the Legal department to assess upcoming projects, and anticipates FA difficulties.
• Interprets all collective bargaining agreements and policies administered by this department when requested.
• Provides training, information and guidance to local offices with respect to motion pictures produced within the local's geographic and assists in resolution of disputes.
• Attends and participates in conferences and seminars to represent SAG-AFTRA.
• Assists in preparation for negotiations, contract adjustment committee meetings and standing committee meetings.
• Tracks and evaluates time attendance records for the department.
• Completes special projects and additional duties as assigned by the National Director.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Thorough knowledge of the Theatrical contracts and other related agreements a major plus.
