POSITION PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, the Manager, LA Operations is responsible for the primary oversight of all operations functions of the Los Angeles Local.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees all areas of operations for the Los Angeles Local; supervises the day-to-day and long-term planning of member education programs, Hollywood Film Society, Los Angeles Conservatory, Radio Plays, MORE, MOVE and NGP.
• Working with member leadership, creates and promotes member programs to educate, outreach and engage members of the Los Angeles Local.
• Serves as a liaison to various internal SAG-AFTRA departments for programming, partnerships and support.
• Provides direction, support, guidance and feedback to Los Angeles based staff.
• Provides oversight of Member Education programs, operations, activities and events.
• Supports planning and development of projects with staff and members, including the development of the requisite processes and procedures.
• Under the direction of the Local Executive Director and Associate Executive Director, may serve as a liaison to LA Local committees on matters relating to LA Local operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Advanced level of management experience and demonstrated leadership skills required to effectively manage and develop a team and individual contributors.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in order to explain complex subject matter, promote collaboration and teamwork, build consensus, and persuade others.
• Responsible; self-directed; pro-active; excellent follow-through.
• Effective problem solver.
• Able to mediate disputes and negotiate with tact and diplomacy.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, both internally and externally.
• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.

• Able to use PC applications.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
/Experience
• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in business, labor relations or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years minimum directly related experience
• 3-5 years program or people management experience
