Director, P&C Business Partner (People & Culture)
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the National Director, People Management, the Director, P&C Business Partner will serve as a key resource for establishing people management best practices at SAG-AFTRA. This position will be instrumental in integrating P&C policies, processes, and practices in the full employment life cycle to assist designated customer organization(s) realize Cultural Transformation and contribute to the SAG-AFTRA Mission.

• With a comprehensive understanding of P&C programs and services, and organization goals and objectives, recommend and/or implement staffing solutions for customer organization(s) to achieve Cultural Transformation goals and objectives;
• Serve as an expert in People & Culture policies and practices – field and/or service high-level staffing requests, advise on staffing policies and/or contracts for organization management, and/or customize staffing solutions to meet customer needs;
• Collaborates with Organization & People Development professionals to coach management in realizing effective staffing strategies and approaches for their organizations; seek opportunities to promote and/or educate staff on the management principles and core values of the Cultural Transformation Initiative and other organization-wide initiatives;
• Identify and explore opportunities/solutions to better engage employees; gather feedback from employees and managers to adjust P&C solutions and enhance the effectiveness of People & Culture programs;
• Evaluate trends and developments in operations and People & Culture to recommend strategic workforce planning initiatives (i.e. Contact Center capabilities, team-building sessions, pulse surveys, leadership/automation transitions, etc.); provide customer feedback to subject matter experts in P&C to continuously improve programs and services;
• Direct and develop team members in reaching their potential and contributing to People & Culture goals and objectives;
• Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

• Expert knowledge of People & Culture best practices and ability to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations; able to develop and implement creative staffing solutions.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact, and must be able to cultivate relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, both internally and externally.
• Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written; strong consultative skills to collaboratively design impactful solutions and manage stakeholder expectations; exceptional listening skills – solicits constructive feedback to refine programs.
• Able to use sound judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality on staffing matters.
• Strong people management skills; able to lead and develop subordinates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field and 8 years of broad Human Resources experience, or 10-12 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
• A minimum of four years of human resources management in broad array of disciplines, including but not limited to workforce planning, employee counseling, and employee/labor relations.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
• PHR or SHRM certification is required; an equivalent certification in Human Resources may be considered.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
• Working knowledge of online performance management applications preferred.
• Experience working in a union environment a plus.
