Full Time Job
The Business Representative - Auditor and Contract Compliance will review production documents and audit for contract compliance, provide contract information to producers, members, and members' representatives, and provide interdepartmental support for contract compliance. This role may also sign pictures to collective bargaining agreements, enforce contracts, research and files claims, as well as participate in outreach and educational events.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs audits on television, new media, and theatrical productions nationally for compliance with the SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreements and various promulgated agreements, using programs such as Showbiz timecards.
• Provides producers, members and their representatives with information regarding SAG-AFTRA Agreements.
• Supports colleagues with assessment of potential contract claims.
• Investigates and files claims for non-compliance of contract and sees through to resolution.
• Participates with the Legal department in arbitration preparation and by giving testimony during proceedings.
• Assists in research and preparation for contract negotiations for various SAG-AFTRA collective bargaining agreements.
• Participates in meetings with producers, members, talent representatives, attorneys, and/or colleagues in various SAG-AFTRA departments.
• Represents SAG-AFTRA through participation in workshops, seminars, film festivals, panel discussions and other speaking engagements in the industry and with specialized performer groups and committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.)
• Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret entertainment industry contracts and collective bargaining agreements. Familiarity with the SAG-AFTRA Codified Basic Agreement and Television Agreement would be advantageous.
• Prior experience in the entertainment industry and entertainment payroll would be advantageous.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret source documents and accurately enter into auditing software.
• Must be customer service oriented and have the ability to interact well with members, performers, studio management and staff with tact and diplomacy.
• Familiarity with Oracle systems and Showbiz Timecards would be advantageous.
• Must have knowledge in using an analytical approach to breaking payroll.
• Must have knowledge and appreciation of business math and abilities, including 24 hour clock and decimal time.
• Must have a thirst for knowledge and desire to be challenged.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Must be well-organized and detail oriented.
• Proficiency with ten-key data input would be advantageous.
• Must be able to work under pressure and work to imposed deadlines, as well as assess priorities and create deadlines.
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently, as well as collaborate with a team.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.
• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.

• Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
• Must be able to work in a challenging environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA’s sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree or a combination of 5 years of education and experience in a labor relations or entertainment environment preferred.
• Juris Doctor degree a plus, but not required.
Certificates, licenses, and/or registrations:
• Paralegal certification a plus, but not required.
