Summary: The Stockton Kings is seeking a Media Relations Coordinator to assist with proactive communications efforts related to the G-League franchise of the Sacramento Kings. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of support in all areas including, but not limited to, writing press material, assisting with special event planning and set-up, gathering research, and performing department administrative duties. Wage: $15.00/hour
Key Responsibility Areas:
• Assists in writing and disseminating press releases, media advisories, and other media material as directed by the Directors of Media Relations.
• Assists in maintaining Game Notes and the distribution of pregame and postgame materials to media.
• Attends every home game.
• Builds and maintains current media lists.
• Assists in coordinating media events including scheduling, preparing timelines, drafting talking points, and other tasks as needed.
• Assists in tracking upcoming projects, deadlines, awards, and milestones.
• Other various duties and projects as assigned.
Required Skills
• Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination will required as a condition of employment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, can work independently or in a team setting
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
• Detail-oriented especially under deadline pressure
• Highly organized, proactive, and communicative
• Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information
• Ability to multi-task and operate efficiently and effectively in a fast pace environment
• Ability to maintain professionalism while working with players, coaches, and basketball operations personnel
• Must be able to work flexible hours – games, nights, weekends, holidays
• Strong basketball knowledge and knowledge of basketball operations processes
• Extensive media contacts and demonstrated ability to place stories
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of media and community contacts (such as newspapers, TV, radio, social media, etc.)
