The Marketing Coordinator assists in the development and execution of marketing campaigns for Golden 1 Center and the Sacramento Kings. This entry-level role involves collaborating within the Marketing department and throughout the organization to manage Creative projects, add thoughtful recommendations on campaigns, and serve as a liaison with external partners.
As a valuable member of the Marketing team, the Coordinator will focus on implementing strategies to drive lead generation, fan engagement and revenue. Key responsibilities may include working with tours to support the announcements and on-sales of Golden 1 Center events, managing Creative requests for Marketing assets, copywriting for emails, media planning, and working with external agencies and vendors.
The candidate should be an organized task-master and strategic thinker that thrives in a fast-paced creative environment. A passion for marketing as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The starting salary for this role is $38,000.
Key Responsibility Areas:
• Support the Director, Arena Marketing in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns for Golden 1 Center and the arena's events, as well as select Sacramento Kings marketing initiatives.
• Work directly with tours to support the announcements and on-sales of Golden 1 Center events through targeted marketing campaigns. Also collaborate with departments including Digital and PR to extend the impact of these campaigns.
• Coordinate the development of Creative assets to support Marketing initiatives. Provide clear creative direction and ensure project deadlines are met by utilizing project management system (Wrike) and communicating daily with the Creative Department.
• Support the Director, Arena Marketing and the entire Marketing team with project coordination and internal client communication.
• Develop copy for Golden 1 Center email marketing initiatives. Assist with developing strategies that will drive engagement and revenue.
• Manage relationships with external vendors on projects including promotional items, print and signage needs, and digital campaigns.
• Assist with arena events and promotions (including on nights and weekends) organizing media and approved photographers.
• Assist with media planning and buying for traditional and digital media.
• Process purchase orders and assist with budget maintenance.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all departments.
• Support Marketing department on any other projects and promotions as needed.
Qualifications:
• Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination will required as a condition of employment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
• 1-3 years of related experience preferred, ideally in the sports and entertainment industry or with a marketing or advertising agency
• Creative with the ability to conceptualize and develop marketing strategies and solutions
• Passion for Marketing and its application to the business of live events
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize within a fast-paced team environment
• Self-starter with a positive attitude; committed to teamwork
• Familiarity with project management processes and tools
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Must be willing to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
