Capsule Position Description:
The Lighting Director is responsible for all production/entertainment lighting for events in the Golden 1 Center.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRA's):
1. Manage the installation, operation and maintenance of the production/entertainment lighting fixtures and the programming of the lighting board.
2. For Kings games and other events such as concerts, graduations and Monster Jam, recalls and operates the entertainment lights during the live production as called for by the show producer.
3. Manages the house lighting during live events and works with Engineering at other times to ensure that proper lighting is on in the hallways, offices and other back of house areas in the G1C.
4. On-site facility lighting representative working with the Events Mangers for lighting pre-rigs, load-ins, and load-outs.
Technical Expertise:
• Ability to manage live show lighting and production under pressure.
• Ability to innovate and contribute to the development of premier entertainment.
• Ability to follow direction and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects as directed by the VP, AV & Production.
• Ability to work independently without supervision to complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others for whom you have no direct supervisory authority.
• Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Work a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department and as assigned by the VP, AV & Production. This is not a Monday through Friday, holidays off position. The employee will staff and operate the equipment as necessary to cover events.
• Must possess a strong ability to manage one's own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
• Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
• Other duties as assigned.
Other Qualifications
Capable of working extended hours such as nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed and assigned by the VP, AV & Production.
