OBJECTIVE:
Saban Music Group is seeking a accounting professional to join our dynamic accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in music, entertainment or public accounting, with strong analytical skills, capacity to multi-task and desire to be an invaluable part of the company. The individual will assist in day-to-day accounting operations while working closely with VP Accounting and CFO to prepare monthly / quarterly closes, build and maintain recording and marketing project budgets and process vendor payments. The position requires a close working relationship with Marketing, A&R and Legal Departments. to ensure all payments are processed timely and in accordance with all required agreements and legal documents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in preparation of royalty statements for artists, producers and other participants
Assist in ingestion of 3rd party sales and royalty statements
Maintain advance payment schedules for artist and producers
Assist in monthly and quarterly close and preparation of Journal Entries
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, identify and resolve issues quickly
Prepare supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts as well as journal entries
Assist in building accounting and financial reports in Intacct
Update monthly and quarterly financial reports, including comparisons to forecast budget and prior year
Work closely and in conjunction with Marketing, A&R and Legal to build and manage project budgets
Review and process invoices for approval, obtain approvals and track against project budgets
Process and record monthly employee expense reports
Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong understanding of accounting principals
Previous music / label / publishing experience highly preferred
ERP system experience (Intacct) a plus
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook Required
Familiarity with Concur a plus
Insatiable appetite to learn and adopt modern finance and accounting tools
Exceptional communication skills, including superior listening ability
Able to work OT from time to time
