Who we're looking for...
RWS Entertainment Group and American Dream are looking for an Entertainment Costume Supervisor at the American Dream costume shop in East Rutherford, NJ.
What's expected...
The main purpose of the Entertainment Costume Supervisor is to:
Create innovative and fun family entertainment utilizing specialized skills and abilities. Guide the department and provide outstanding internal and external guest service at all times, ensuring a positive guest experience.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee, repair and maintain all character costumes in Nickelodeon Universe and DreamWorks Water Park.
- Create, maintain and execute a laundry schedule to keep costumes, extra pieces and undergarments show ready.
- Create and maintain maintenance documentation for all costumes.
- Create and maintain safety procedures for removing personal stains from costumes.
- Train team members on how to do basic costume maintenance repairs and washing.
- Create and track costume shop inventory.
- Maintain and replenish costume shop supply needs.
- Train additional costume team members as needed.
- Perform maintenance/repairs on all costume pieces to include: zipper repairs, button repairs, sewing, spot cleaning, head repairs and all laundering of costumes.
- Foster a positive working environment for Entertainment Staff.
- Hire and train Entertainment Costume Team Leads as needed.
- Coordinate costume staffing for special events and requests.
- Plan and coordinate Entertainment costume needs for onsite and offsite events.
- Abide by and enforce licensing agreements and regulations among Entertainment staff.
- Supervise the maintenance and cleaning of costumes.
- Special events as assigned.
- Provide performance feedback to Costume Team Leads as needed.
- Follow all company and department policies and procedures.

What you bring...
- Education: College degree preferred in theater/wardrobe field
- Attaining 1-3 years experience in related theatrical wardrobe venues including a management role
- Public speaking experience helpful
- Ability to positively direct and motivate employees
- Ability to trouble shoot in a constantly changing environment/flexible with last minute changes
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs
Physical Job Requirements:
- Stand/move about - frequently, 90%
- Kneel/crouch - periodically, 25%
- Reach at or above shoulder level - periodically, 20%
- Reach at or below shoulder level - periodically, 20%
- Handle/lift large items such as boxes or packages - periodically, 20%
- Bend/stoop/squat - frequently, 50%
- Repetitive motion - occasionally, 30%
