Job description
Royalty Review Council is a leading digital royalty examination firm who pioneered the procedures to conducts audits of digital services. We are currently seeking to add a CPA to our team. In this role, you will be responsible for various aspects of the audit process that require work to be performed by a CPA.
This position affords the right candidate exposure to all aspects of music royalty reporting. The right candidate will have an interest in music copyrights.
Job Functions:
Conduct compliance audits (including GAAS procedures) to confirm accurate financial and data reporting by a licensee of music copyrights.
Summarize and support any potential findings of under or over-payment under licenses.
Recognize and safeguard highly confidential information.
Job Requirements:
Skills/Abilities:
Must be a CPA (must provide proof of an active CPA license)
Must be comfortable with working in an adversarial capacity
Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Must be able to think objectively and present multiple sides of an issue.
Must be able to work independently.
Able to multi-task, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be comfortable taking argumentative positions.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in an audit role or equivalent exposure to working in adversarial business situations.
Exposure to recording contracts or participation agreements is a plus.
