Full Time Job
Position at Rolling Live Studios for Senior Audio Engineer (SAE) to work in-office and at external events. SAE records, mixes, processes, and masters artist performances and talent interviews, ensuring a smooth transition to streaming and VOD. SAE is involved in every step of production, from sound check to end-product mastering and assembly. SAE supports the production team throughout operations, lending both expertise and a critical ear. SAE fulfills editorial requests from 3rd party entities (talent, clients, external producers/composers) when necessary; SAE must communicate efficiently in order to minimize iterative cycles and meet deadlines. SAE is also responsible for equipment setup/tuning and should be prepared to interface with a wide variety of gear based on recording location. SAE is expected to keep recording spaces organized and proactively pursue improvement by way of acoustics, mic placement, new equipment, new technologies, etc.
Responsibilities:
-Record, mix, process, and master performances for streaming and VOD
-Assemble final master files
-Deliver final masters according to strict deadlines
-Troubleshoot livestream audio in real time
-Provide audio quality control
-Share expertise to better inform production
-Apply metadata tagging for SEO and conforming to defined nomenclature/systems for asset titling, file naming, and file management
-Save and restore audio/stem archives
-Manage recording budgets and schedules as directed by CEO
-Set up and break down sessions
-Tune equipment and perform sound checks
-Manage cables/patch bays, ensure an organized recording environment
-Perform general studio maintenance and gear repair
-Continually optimize recording spaces and recommend augmentations
-Various other tasks as needed by the organization
Requirements:
-5+ years of professional experience in audio engineering. Major label artist recording experience preferred
-Strong proficiency with ProTools required, experience with other Digital Audio Workstations preferred
-Prepared to work with both in-office and external equipment. Understanding of SSL consoles, vintage outboard gear, and vintage microphones preferred
-Tireless work ethic, comfortable working unsupervised yet able to quickly implement editorial requests and adapt to schedule changes
-Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with high attention to detail
-Able to maintain a positive and constructive outlook in a dynamic environment
